Modern day Betsy Ross's help wounded soldiers heal

“How do I love America? Let me quilt the ways” is the theme of Judy Howard’s “God Bless America” Quilt Contest and traveling exhibits to benefit wounded soldiers.

These traditional or pictorial 22” quilts created by children and adults capture the essence of “America the Beautiful” by paying tribute to our American Heroes, Troops, Presidents and depicting “Liberty and Justice for all,” or expressing flag-waving loyalty to our “One Nation Under God.”

All profits from the $100/ week-end rental fee go to non-profit groups who provide quilts for wounded and families of fallen soldiers — those most in need of the touch of love that quilts represent. and Publishing Programs
 

  1. "Quilted Love Letter for America--Thanking Our Troops: In this quilt trunk show program designed to honor our military and veterans’ families, Judy entertains wtih stories of heroism and sacrificial love of God and Country from her new book Thanking Our Troops—God Bless America Touring Quilts. Judy displays 50-90 of the 200 winning quilts submitted by children and adults across the nation in her contest “How Do I Love America—Let Me Quilt the Ways.” These little quilts have cheered troops in Baghdad and have brought rave reviews from prestigious quilt shows like AQS and HMQS and are crisscrossing the U.S. to blanket America with the Fabric of Hope to unify our torn nation by returning to our founding fathers’ values. $100 Exhibit is free when you schedule quilt trunk show program.  Volume discounts available for fund-raising. (30-120 minutes)

  2. “Under the Covers with Granny Reveals Oklahoma’s Secrets”:  Entertaining and educational stories and power point presentation of quilts included in Judy’s three award-winning books.(30-120 minutes)

  3. “Under the Covers with Granny Reveals Oklahoma’s Secrets” Quilt Trunk Show:  In this hands-on quilt show and amusing story-telling session, Judy displays 30-100 Oklahoma Historic quilts. Included are Murrah Memorial, contemporary art and antique quilts appraised for $5000 to $17,500 dating back to 1834 with vintage photos featured in her books. (30-120 minutes)

  4. Tell me a Story of Oklahoma—Children’s Program: This story-telling educational program teaches history through the courageous eyes of our pioneer women and includes a display of quilts made by children and adults. (30-60 minutes)

  5. Children’s Quilt-Making Workshop: In this hands-on workshop, children will learn Oklahoma history as they help create small quilts to travel around the state in exhibits. (one hour to four hours)

  6. Jane Phillips, Carrie Nation and Kate Barnard in costume Educational titled “You too Can Change the World.”   Travel back in time to another era to meet three of Oklahoma’s most illustrious characters--showing the 1934 Frank Phillips Autograph Quilt, photos of the 1914 Carrie Nation Fund-raising Quilt with 600 autographs of Hobart and area pioneers and the Quilt made from McAlester Prison Uniforms along with other Quilts. (30-120 minutes)

  7. Centennial Stitches—Oklahoma History in Quilts Exhibit of thirty antique quilts with vintage family photos, wedding certificates and Homestead Certificates. Stories are featured stories in books. (Rental is $200/week-end show)

  8. "God Bless America"  Exhibit of 22"x22" quilts by children and adults. Easy to display with a 4" sleeve on back to run a rod through and also 4 drapery rings through which to pin into the wall or onto draped racks. Please indicate how many quilts you have space to hang and whether you'd like the focus to be Patriotic, Biblically inspired, all made by children, or a mix of all. (Rental is $100 for four days for a week-end show.)

  9. New Beginnings: Pursuing and Achieving the Impossible Dream:  God has gifted each person of every race, religion, creed or culture with unique talents and has a distinctive plan for each person.  Judy’s personal story of overcoming insurmountable obstacles will inspire you to pursue your dream in order to become all that God created you to be. (For children or adults, 30-60 minutes)

  10. Historic Quilts of America:  An educational and breath-taking power point display of historic antique quilts from Judy’s collection of 30 years and museums across the nation. (30-120 minutes)

  11. Creative Writing Workshop: Judy teaches writing techniques tailored for adult or children’s program and includes an actual writing exercise and reading. (30-60 minutes)

  12. Preserving Your Family Heritage: Great for genealogy enthusiasts, this writing workshop helps you organize your family stories and present them in a readable format that will entertain generations to come as it preserves your valuable family heritage. (30-60 minutes)

  13. Networking Magic: How to conduct an Email Blast and make your book an Amazon.com Bestseller: After conducting her own campaign, Judy leads you through the process step by step This includes: compiling email lists, bonus gift solicitation and free samples letters, reminders, et al. (30-60 minutes)

  14. Self-publishing for Dummies: Judy discusses the challenges, obstacles, rewards and valuable tips from her personal experience. (30-60 minutes)

  15. Block Buster Book Sales on a Shoe-String: Judy gives valuable pointers in what works and what doesn’t in selling books. (30-60 minutes)

  16. Be Your Own Publicist and save $10,000/month: Having sold 5000 of her first book in seven months, Judy shares her tips on marketing and merchandising, selling, distribution, shipping and publicizing.
